Hinweis zur Bezeichnung: Die erste Zahl gibt den Schaftdurchmesser, die zweite die Schaftlänge (ohne Kopfhöhe!) an. Demnach hat beispielsweise ein Niet DIN 660 - 5 x 10 einen Durchmesser des Schafts von 5 mm und eine Schaftlänge von 10 mm. Die Gesamtlänge des Niets ist in diesem Fall 13 mm.
