This specialized plasticine putty is the ideal tool for learning the fundamentals of blacksmithing. It allows for realistic "dry runs" without the need for a hot iron.
When worked, the putty behaves remarkably similarly to glowing steel. This makes it quick and easy to simulate how the material reacts to targeted hammer blows.
Whether drawing, upsetting, twisting, or splitting – all classic blacksmithing techniques can be perfectly practiced with this putty before working on a real workpiece at the anvil.
Properties:
Easy to shape
Good forming properties
Stable base
Easy to shape with a hammer and tools
Behavior similar to glowing steel
Upsetting, drawing, twisting, splitting, and much more...
Not just for cold forging!

Soft pitch for repoussé work
Features:
Made in Germany according to a traditional formula
Easy to work with
Safe to handle
An ideal aid for repoussé work on copper sheets and other materials
Available in various hardness grades
Ensures results with sharp, precise contours
Residues can be easily removed from the workpiece
Application:
To embed a workpiece, the pitch is slowly heated until it becomes viscous. The pitch is then pressed into shape and, upon cooling, acquires its stabilizing firmness.
Any residues remaining on the finished workpiece can subsequently be removed by carefully heating the piece with a heat gun or by using solvents.
Which pitch is used for what purpose?
Soft: For deep repoussé work and large-scale deformations.
Medium: The standard choice for most repoussé and chasing work.
Hard: For very fine details and shallow reliefs.
